Tips to Organize a Halloween Party
Halloween parties are one of the popular holiday celebrations. They are fun and scary events. It takes an extra effort to maintain this scary and spooky feel all through the party. Starting with the preparing of invitations to supplying party favors, every single element of the party should be taken care of well in advance. Below are few tips which can help you in conducting a perfect Halloween party.
Prepare scary and spooky invitations: Give a perfect Halloween effect to your invitations. Use few scary and spooky designs. This brings the feel of the Halloween right from the beginning and extends to other aspects of the party. A well designed Halloween invitation generates interest in guests. Provide the details of the venue, place, theme, timings, costumes to be worn, etc. Customize the fonts and use scary backdrops such as haunted house, skeletons, grave stones, etc. to create a scary effect. Remember to maintain the color of the invitation in orange and black color.
Decorate using black and orange-colored items: Make the party venue as a frightening place. Decorate the venue mostly with black and orange-colored items. Hang orange lighted Jack O’Lanterns and black or orange-colored balloons all over the place. Decorate the roof tops and walls with orange and black streamers. Cover the party tables with black or orange table-cloth and place plastic bugs, rats and skulls. Be creative and make your own window and door coverings with the cutting silhouettes of bats, spiders, etc. out of black and orange paper.
Proper lighting: Proper lighting gives life to a Halloween party. This theme demands a shady and dim lighting in most of the areas. Use black and orange colored neon lights. Hang chandeliers or light up pumpkin spinning balls or balloons filled with mini glow sticks. Place a glow-in-the-dark skeletons or black–orange colored glowing zombies at corners in the room. Use artificial flashing light candles. Also, add artificial mist in places to create a smoky effect.
Arrange some scary games: A Halloween party can be made more lively, adventurous and really frightening by arranging some scary games. These games make the guests involved in the party as they give a real experience of a Halloween than any other visual decoration. Go for some games such as Haunted Halloween walk, Skeleton scavenger hunt, etc. Make sure that every guest present there participates in these games.
Serve festive Halloween drinks and food: Give a scary feel to your party by serving special Halloween recipes. In addition to general recipes, try ghoulish dishes and drinks such as zombie cupcakes, spooky Halloween soup, etc. Try serving them in dishes which are black and orange in color; it is better if they have scary designs. Glowing barware can be used for serving drinks. Use orange and black colored table cloths and place artificial objects such as bleeding hand, cross-bones, etc., as center pieces.
Offer surprising Halloween treats: Delight your guests by offering Halloween party favors. Surprise them with special treats such as glow sticks, Halloween masks, Halloween pumpkins with candies, flashing eyeball rings, glow necklaces, devil horns, etc. These treats add up to the already existing fun and excitement in the party.
Halloween is once in a year party. You can host a successful Halloween party by planning and organizing the event properly.
